Kevin Hart performs surprise set at comedy club Kevin Hart is getting “back in the comedy club gym.” The actor, 37, hit the town Friday night to work on some new material at New York Comedy Club, where he hosted an open mic before making it big in Hollywood. “When the host … brought him up the audience was silent. They thought he was kidding, and when Kevin made his way to the stage [they] lost it,” a spy told Page Six. “It went on for two minutes. You could hear it out by the bar.” The comic went on to do thirty minutes of stand-up, but not before assuring the crowd that while the jokes were new, “they won’t be bad, I promise.” The weekend wasn’t entirely comprised of work for Hart, though, as he took in the Super Bowl with fellow funnyman, Cedric the Entertainer on Sunday.
